Detailed Description
- Physically handles incoming shipments
- Verifies purchased products and enters order receipts into WESCOM.
- Performs special customer quality assurance inspections.
- Segregates backorders and place received materials in proper locations
- Pulls, packs, weighs, and labels materials for shipment; prepare bills of lading and express receipts.
- Assists in loading trucks.
- Prepares local delivery records
- Maintains return material authorization/credit memo (RMA/CM) forms pending return of materials.
- Inspects returned materials before completing balance of RMA/CM.
- Stores materials in correct location.
- Sweeps and cleans warehouse and trucking and parking area.
- Assembles and disassembles bins, racks, shelves, and tables.
- Administers preventative maintenance programs to delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety practices for warehouse operations.
- ·Records verbal and written complaints from customers concerning dissatisfaction with product or service provided.
- Sells, assembles, and packs over-the-counter sales.
- Maintains counter stock.
- Ensures work areas are kept safe and safety protocols are followed.
- Advises management of any unsafe conditions or activities in facility.
- Facilitates communication between management and non-senior facility workers.
- Acts as training resource for less experienced workers, and assists with training of newer employees.
- Participates in scheduled safety training activities, and maintains powered equipment and hazmat certifications.
Job Requirements
EXPERIENCE:
- Warehouse and distribution experience – 2 years preferred.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of electrical, construction or mechanical products preferred.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to follow direction.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to prepare for emerging customer needs.
- Processes complaints as instructed.
- Current graduated motor vehicle license.
- Ability to take on role of lead hand.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Warehouse – Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment. The noise level is moderately quiet. Generally well ventilated and well lighted. Warehouse employees may be exposed to all kinds of weather and may be required to wear protective clothing. Operates heavy equipment. Strict safety regulations may be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work is physically strenuous and workers are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds.
- Work may require excessive bending or stooping.
- Employee required to climb ladders.
- Employee required to use hand tools.
- Employee uses heavy machinery (e.g., forklift, etc.).
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Employee required to problem-solve.
- Employee required to communicate with the public.
