Tuff Built Tuff Step Access System

Tuff Built Tuff Step Access System

The Tuff Built Tuff Step Access System is a lightweight, easy to use, adjustable temporary stair and walkway system for many applications such as road/rail embankments, in gravel pits, on construction sites, on hilly or uneven terrain, or as temporary access between building levels. It provides temporary safe working access to most sloped surfaces where anchoring is possible. They can be used as individual stairs or joined together for longer runs. Constructed of aluminum and polypropylene plastic for the non-slip treads, Tuff Step sheds snow, ice and mud, providing a safer footing in just about any condition.

This modular system has several different components to allow you to create a custom solution for your application.

Single steps:

  • Made of heavy duty, non-slip thermoplastic tread
  • Maximum load is 550 lbs per step
  • 5-position adjustable slope (0° to 55°)
  • Narrow step with spikes: 14" x 17", 6.35 lbs each
  • Wide step with spikes: 14" x 31.5", 9.8 lbs each
  • An unlimited number of steps may be used together, with or without anchors

Step sections (pictured below, bottom right):

  • Steps are mounted to aluminum support tubes
  • Maximum load is 550 lbs per section
  • 5-position adjustable slope (0° to 55°)
  • An unlimited number of step sections may be used together, with or without anchors
  • Available in narrow or wide sizes, in 4 or 8 step sections
  • Optional hand rails available

Portable Walkways and Ramps:

  • Steps are permanently mounted to aluminum frames
  • Maximum load is 550 lbs per section
  • Steps can fold down to create a flat, non-slip walkway or ramp
  • Available in narrow ir wide sizes, in 8, 12 or 16 step sections
  • Optional hand rails available

Handrails and Connections

  • Handrails, connection tubes, post assemblies and end rails are available to use with step sections.
  • Handrails are designed to "span" one section to another.
  • Connection tubes allow user to have handrails on one or both sides of step assemblies. Depending on the length of the "run", one connection tube is required per section.

Para-Stair Systems (pictured below, bottom left):

  • Para-Stair systems are self supporting stairs for accessing elevated work surfaces.
  • They are designed so that the stair tread remains level over an operating range of 30° to 60°.
  • Available in increments of 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20 and 24 steps as one piece assemblies. Multiple sections can be attached together to create the needed size.
  • Available in wide and narrow sizes in a variety of heights and combinations.
