3M Speedglas 9100 Series Welding Helmets

3M Speedglas 9100 Series Welding Helmets were designed by and for serious welders to provide a superior and comfortable fit. With the patented head-conforming suspension system, pressure is reduced on vulnerable nerves, arteries and acupressure points, areas that can cause pain and discomfort if they are subject to continuous pressure. The back of the head band on the suspension system is self-adjusting and swivels to fit different head shapes, while the unique two-strap crown adjustment provides increased stability and reduced pressure. The smooth ratchet mechanism lets you manually tighten the helmet to your personal preference and four settings let you determine the distance between your face and the helmet for optimum viewing. Features such as frontal bogie pads and exhaust vents further enhance the comfort experience of 9100 Series Speedglas Welding Helmets.

The unique design of the 9100 Series Speedglas Welding Helmet lowers and improves the centre of gravity, keeping the helmet closer to the head in both the up and down positions, making the helmet feel lighter, stable and balanced. The design also provides additional coverage of the ears, sides of the head and neck from sparks, metal grindings and splatter debris.

The 3M 9100 Series Speedglas Auto-Darkening Filters continue the Speedglas brand tradition of outstanding optical quality, including uniform shading and minimal distortion across the entire viewing area. Welders have a choice of three viewing options: standard (9100V), large (9100X), and extra-large (9100XX) which is 30% larger than previous 3M Speedglas filters. The 9100 Series ADF's feature seven user-selectable dark shades (5, 8-13) with the option to lock-in your shade for torch or plasma cutting. Seven arc detection settings, adjustable delay switching, and a built-in "mag" plate holder are standard features of the 9100 Series ADF. The shade 5 side windows option significantly improves peripheral and downward vision; the tack welding comfort mode and a wide-view grinding visor for metal preparation make the 9100 helmet the choice of professionals.

Five models of 9100 Series Speedglas Welding Helmets are available.

  • 9100 (pictured top left): The 9100 is designed for optimal comfort and protection. The radical technology behind the highly adjustable 9100 head suspension fundamentally changes not only how you wear the helmet, but also how you experience fit, stability and balance. The 9100 helmets have a smooth up-and-down pivot action that gently locks in the "up" position, and their suspension keeps the helmet closer to user's head, making the helmet feel lighter, more stable and balanced at all times. The 9100 helmet is also available with removable "blinders", to allow you to see others working around you. Hard hat adaptor available separately to incorporate an H-700 hard hat.
  • 9100 FX (pictured top right): The 9100 FX includes an innovative wide-view grinding visor to give welders an all-in-one solution for more flexibility and precision. The exceptionally clear and large (8" x 4.25") visor offers a greater field of view in all directions, while a smooth flip-up pivot mechanism assures effortless transition from welding to grinding modes. The 9100 FX comes standard with Shade 5 SideWindows and a top-of-head head spark and spatter cover.
  • 9100-Air and 9100 FX-Air (pictured bottom left): The 9100-Air and FX-Air combine the features of standalone helmets, 9100 and 9100 FX with added respiratory protection. Each helmet readily connects to the 3M Adflo Powered Air Particulate Respirator (PAPR) or the 3M Fresh-air III Supplied Air Regulators to help provide optimal respiratory protection and comfort for increased productivity and demanding environments.
  • 9100 MP (pictured bottom right): The 9100 MP incorporates five levels of protection for head, eye, face, respiratory and hearing into an easy-to-use and comfortable system. It features a flip-up mechanism for easy transition from welding to grinding modes, a clear wide-view (8" x 4.25") grinding visor that is approved to CSA Z94.3 standards for eye and face protection and a top shell meets the latest ANSI Z89.1 standards for industrial safety helmets. It also has proprietary shade 5 passive SideWindows that significantly
increase peripheral welding vision. The 9100 MP is compatible with the 3M Adflo Powered Air Particulate Respirator (PAPR) or the 3M Fresh-air III Supplied Air Regulators to help provide optimal respiratory protection. An optional, high-visibility, aluminum fabric reflects hot sunlight and welding heat. This helmet has also been designed to accomodate optional 3M Peltor Earmuffs.
